Bronze for Avon's 11U Boys at Nationals
Avon's 11U Boys came away with well deserved bronze medals at the recent LTA National Finals for the 11U age group.
The team of Harley, Lucas, Mathis, Max, Misha and Weichen (captained by Matt Elston and Ollie Bendall) travelled to Nottingham playing Warwickshire, Surrey and Sussex in the initial group stage. After really close matches (and with the aid of calculators) Avon qualified for the third place play-off against Middlesex. Once again, it was close with a 3-3 score which required a shoot-out ................. Avon's boys did it, winning 10-6.
A great result for the boys who through their determination, effort and fight finished in third place taking the bronze medals. Well done to all involved, the boys, their parents and the team captains.
