Avon Tennis provides funds to help Clubs promote and develop tennis, especially through increasing membership, participation, regular play, coaching and competition for all ages. These funds are available to assist with small size projects that are below the normal minimum amount provided by the various LTA funding schemes and where other funding maynot be available. Funding will be available either by way of a grant (up to£2,500) or an unsecured interest free loan (maximum of £15,000 over 10 years).
Examples of where larger grant funding amounts have been allocated to date include several school outreach programmes where coaches have delivered "tennis taster" sessions in schools and as a consequence recruited juniors into their club programme with many (plus their parents) taking out actual club membership.
If, however, a very small grant (under £250) would be considered to be useful, like promoting an open day or helping to build a relationship with a local youth group or a scouting/brownie group, then there is a separate quick and simpler request form that is available.
In addition, those Clubs who are incorporated entities (like a CIO or a limited company) may also apply for loan funding to assist with the delivery of capital projects in those cases where full funding is not readily available either through club funds or third-party monies.Priority will be given to projects involving floodlighting, renewal of court surfaces, club buildings and security fences. In these instances, funding will be limited to a maximum of £15,000 but no more than 50% of the project costs.

Funding Support for Venues
Avon Tennis is committed to supporting venues to promote and develop tennis across the region. Our funding is designed to help increase membership, participation, regular play, coaching, and competition opportunities for players of all ages.
We provide financial support for smaller-scale projects that may fall below the minimum thresholds of standard LTA funding schemes, or where alternative funding sources are not readily available.
Funding is available in three forms:
• Small Grants – up to £250
• Larger Grants - up to £2,500
• Interest-free, unsecured loans - up to £15,000, repayable over a maximum of 10 years
Examples of Funded Projects:
Small Grants
For smaller initiatives—such as promoting an open day, or building relationships with local youth organisations, scouting groups, or Brownies—a simplified and quick application process is available for grants under £250.
Larger Grants
We have supported a range of successful initiatives, including school outreach programmes. These programmes have enabled coaches to deliver “tennis taster” sessions in local schools, leading to increased junior participation and new club memberships—often involving both children and their parents.
Capital Project Loans
Clubs that are formally incorporated (e.g. Charity Incorporated Organisations or limited companies) may also apply for loan funding to support capital projects where full funding is not otherwise available.
Priority will be given to projects such as:
• Installation of floodlighting
• Court resurfacing
• Clubhouse improvements
• Security fencing
In these cases, funding will be capped at:
• £15,000 and
• No more than 50% of the total project cost
