County Cup 35+ Teams in Action

Over the past ten days Avon Tennis' 35+ teams were in action on the grass courts at Eastbourne.

First up were the ladies, captained by Elly Shearman, playing in Division 3. With great wins against Essex and Gloucestershire they then lost to a very strong Nottinghamshire team.

It was an awesome weekend seeing old friends throughout the country, just like from their junior days. Every county has a team, including representatives from Scotland and Wales! In a few cases, some of their children (including Elly's daughter Marli) came to watch and support as well!

The over 35 Ladies will compete again in Div 3 next year with the goal to go up to Div 2 next year!

It was then the men's turn, also in Division 3, and captained by Josh White. They had some really tough matches losing to Middlesex, Dorset (just!!) and Suffolk. Despite the losses the team had a great few days and are already planning for next year.
